a two day Plein Air Event

CANCELLED 10/20/17

What is Plein Air?

Plein Air painting is a phrase borrowed from the French meaning "open (in full) air." It is used to describe the act of painting outdoors, where a painter reproduces the visual conditions experienced at the time of the painting.

All Things Somerset, October 27 and 28 2017, invites artists from all over the East Coast to enter and create art in the open air.  More than thirty competing artists will paint throughout Somerset County, Maryland; which offers subjects such as historic homes, harbors, skipjacks, work boats, landscapes, just to name a few examples.

Art created on Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28 will be on display Saturday the 28th (location to be announced), starting at 4pm with a lite fare reception.  Collectors can view and purchase artwork on the 28th, beginning at 4pm.  Awards for competing artists will be presented between 3 and 4pm before the sale and reception.
